FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Registration is completed in three steps, all initiated through the Riverside FC website:

  1. Pay the club fees via the Riverside FC website.
  2. Complete the Riverside FC internal registration form on the same website.
  3. Download, complete, and submit the official GDLFA registration forms, which are also available on the website and require a school stamp for junior players.

  4. Once all steps are completed, the player is fully registered with the club.

Yes.
Payment must be completed first via the Riverside FC website.
Once payment is done, you can complete the internal registration form on the website and download the required GDLFA registration forms.

During registration, the following documents are required:

  • A certified copy of the player’s birth certificate or ID document
  • The player’s latest school report (if still in school, required for age verification)
  • A release letter from the previous club (only if the player is switching clubs)
  • A clear photo of the player
  • Proof of payment (only if payment was made via EFT)

The GDLFA registration forms are official league documents required for all players. These forms can be downloaded directly from the Riverside FC website after payment and internal registration.

  • Ages 6–17 require the Junior GDLFA form
  • Ages 18 and over require the Senior GDLFA form
Junior forms must be stamped by the player’s school. The stamp must overlap the photo without covering the player’s face, otherwise the form will be rejected by the GDLFA. Once completed, the forms must be handed to the player’s coach at training.

Riverside FC takes age verification seriously and follows the requirements set out by the GDLFA. All documentation submitted during registration must be accurate, genuine, and truthful.

In the past, football clubs have faced challenges with incorrect or falsified documentation. While it can be difficult to independently verify certain documents, Riverside FC reserves the right to query, investigate, or escalate any concerns relating to a player’s age or eligibility.

If documentation is found to be incorrect or misleading, the club may refer the matter to the GDLFA, request additional verification, or suspend or cancel the player’s registration. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring all documents submitted are valid and accurate.

The correct age group for each player is listed on the Age Groups page of the Riverside FC website and is also clearly indicated at the top of the GDLFA registration form that is downloaded during registration.

In certain cases, a player may be considered to play up an age group if reviewed and approved by the coaching team and where it is deemed appropriate for the player’s development and safety.
